SHERRILLS FORD

Nestled in wooded hills on Lake Norman, busy clients Renee and Willis Spivey desired a casual  entry garden without lawn that included lots of color.

The urn fountain focal point  enlivens the space with soothing sound and is a water source for many birds year round.
An atypical space was developed for an atypical friend and client to bring an authentic Mexican retreat feel to this Lake Norman backyard. It all began with hanging baskets on the covered dock cantina . Recycled bricks were scouted and gathered for the cozy fire pit. Before we were done, Southern Living Magazine featured these lush cold hardy tropical gardens in their magazine.

ENTERTAINMENT GARDENS
Even while their retirement home was under construction, these gardens were readied for a Spring outdoor wedding. The unique one acre property includes a peninsula  with grandfathered lawn and beds jutting into Lake Norman. Plants were chosen for ease of care, Watershed BMP approval and old fashioned style. The blank stone chimney beckoned Jan to collaborate with the homes interior designer and her visionary installer to come up with the perfect water feature. Turn on the water and let the wedding begin!
