This custom home couldn’t show off it’s fine craftsmanship until it underwent  curb appeal intervention. The clients knew they wanted a small pond outside their front door. Jan insisted it flow over the ugly retaining wall then into a creek and rain garden. Many drainage constraints were involved and Jan worked to find an installer up to the challenge. The results brought solace for her clients  a warm welcome to their many guests and a memorial for their daughter.

This intimate patio garden already had great bones and sculpture, but needed order, year round color and texture to enrich each day for its’ homeowners. Existing plants were moved about and new ones were added personally by Jan to energize the space.

Ann's birdhouse collection now hovers on a recycled shelf. The enlarged and stoned patio now has ample room for dining. Runoff is  channeled with an attractive dry creek that is softened by a parade of blooming perennials.Que the hummingbirds!
